Delaney Event Management, one of the premier event management companies in Northern New England, is looking for a qualified professional to join our team as a full-time Meeting Planner. Established in 1997, we are a full-service, woman-owned, independent meeting planning firm headquartered in Winooski, Vermont. We work with many state and federal agencies, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and corporations to provide comprehensive event planning and execution services for over 50 conferences and events each year.
This is an early career to mid-career level position and the ideal candidate will have at least some experience in project management and/or leadership role, as well as a strong work ethic and ability to integrate into an established group of event professionals on our team.
Other essential skills needed: exceptional relationship building, customer service, detail-oriented, and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint). Experience with a project management tool preferred (Asana, Trello, etc.).
Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced, intense and deadline-driven environment. Applicants with a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation will be given priority consideration.
This is a salaried, full-time position that will include occasional evening and weekend time at events and will also include travel in and out of Vermont (approximately 10% of the time). The first year of employment will include a comprehensive training and onboarding plan to ensure success. In this role, you may be responsible for:
Project & Client Management - including managing planning committees/boards and the event process from start to finish; coordinating with other team members on marketing, sponsorship outreach, registration, logistics, and financial.
Planning Timeline and Budget Management.
Site selection projects - researching potential venues, developing and distributing the RFP, collecting bids and contract negotiation.
Facility/Hotel logistics projects - developing the master space grid for an event, managing guest room pick up, liaison with facility for all event set-up and audio-visual requirements.
Marketing - assistance with the development of marketing strategy, content/messaging, and execution.

Able to sit or stand at a computer for work for an extended period of time
Able to lift/move boxes (up to 50 pounds)
Nice to haves: experience with project management software (Asana), online registration system (Cvent), communication tools (Slack), video conferencing solutions (Zoom), survey tools (Survey Monkey), and familiarity with events and event management.
